Africa World Market is Canada’s first Afro-Caribbean supermarket chain!

With just under 20,000 square feet of retail space, our flagship location carries a wide selection of carefully selected Afro-Caribbean, Latin American and Asian specialty foods, meats, and fresh produce at the best possible prices.

Plus, shop a large variety of household essentials, home décor, beauty products, accessories, and more! We also have a wholesale distribution center specializing in retail and food service.

We are currently looking for experienced Merchandisers to join our team!

Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and execution of merchandising resets and strategies
Stock, arrange, price, and replenish products on shelves and in coolers to ensure customers find what they need
Assemble/set-up displays and store fixtures
Perform walkthrough at the start and end of each shift and provide feedback to Store Management
Ensure all products are merchandised, priced, and labeled correctly to maximize sales
Identify, document and remove any damaged or expired products from shelves
Maintain overall image of the store, including cleanliness, displays, signage, labels, pricing, shelf layouts, etc.
Inventory management
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years' merchandising experience; preferably in a high-volume grocery, retail or warehouse environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have reliable transportation
Able to read and follow planograms
Work independently with minimal supervision
Open availability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines
Detail-oriented and extremely well organized
Eye for visual presentation
Team player with a positive attitude
Fluency in English and French an asset

*** Must be able to work 30 hours per week.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time

Salary: From $15.00/Hr
